Just like Panduranga Vitthala, SAI BABA too could not remain in Shirdi alone.

Sai Devotee Raghunath Tendulkar was a resident of Bandra. His wife was Savitri. They have written beautiful songs on SAI BABA prior to Hemad Pant.

In the garden of that devotees there was a Bakkal (Vakula) Tree which flourished lot of flowers.

The mention of this Bakkal flowers could be seen/heard in Shri Sai Satcharitra after the Maha Samadhi of SAI BABA.

This Bakkal (Vakula) flowers flourish well in the months of April and May. They fall both in the morning and evening.

Like humans, flowers too wish to be close to God. That Bakkal Tree (Vakula Vriksham) used to fall flowers in the early hours, perhaps for SAI BABA indeed. Savitri use to wake up then and collect the fallen flowers. She used to prepares a Chair Like thing using these flowers and used to put SAI BABA’s photograph on it.With her expertise, she used to prepare garlands of different measurements and decorate the photograph of SAI BABA.

She used to worship SAI BABA with the remaining flowers. She felt immense happy by doing this.

Flower Decoration as a Divine Service was also an Art.

Tondirappodi Alwaru (Vipranarayana) was always on this work only. Only to perform Flower Decoration to Lord Venkateshwara Shree Ramanuja Acharya sent Ananta Acharya to Tirumala. That was one of the path to Devotion.

Savithri’s husband asked her as to what was this service? It might not have occurred to him that Flower Decoration was also a Path to Devotion.

After some time the couple went to Shirdi. SAI BABA told Raghunath Tendulkar that ‘This mother has immersed Me with flowers. I got unconscious after intoxicated with the smell of the flowers. Now slowly I am recovering’.

Then Raghunath could able to remember questioning his wife about this flower decoration. He felt sad for this. It was not good to hurt his wife and a devotee’s mind by questioning them about Flower Decoration.

Not only that, Raghunath felt happy that SAI BABA has accepted the service of his wife.

‘That love couple Raghunath and Savitri were merged in SAI BABA’ said Shri Ramakrishna Jaaju.

Let us submit the flowers of a particular season to SAI BABA in that season at least mentally.
