Once when Mrs Tarkad was taking her meal a dog and pig was near her door and crying, she understood they were hungry and gave few pieces of Roti to them. She was the wife of Ramchandra Atmaram Tarkad ( a brief mention about this is made in Sai Satcharita chapter 9)

Bhav Maharaj Kumhhaar was a SAI BABA devotee who told us that “the trees and plants we see around us also feel cold and heat like we human beings do

Some say that he left his mortal coil on April 20th 1937, while few others say that he left his mortal coil on April 20th 1938. However, it was unanimous that he has left his mortal coil on April 20th. What is more interesting is his Maha Samadhi was placed in Shirdi.

He believed in doing the karmas not for getting appreciations from anyone. And Karma for him means not performing havan (or yagam) but believed in cleaning the streets in Shirdi where Baba use to walk. Keeping the Shirdi Sansthan clean. He was willing doing these kind of services without disturbing or troubling others

He used to live on begging alms. If anyone donates money to him, he used to donate it to others who require it the most. He used to cover the trees and plants with his own cloths as he felt that they were feeling cold and heat. While it is easy to understand the hunger of living creatures It’s certainly a unique quality to know and understand about the plight of trees and plants that suffer from cold and heat.

‘My Father gave me 1/4th of the Roti. He told me sweetest stories’ thus said Kumbhaar about SAI BABA. The service without any expectation was his greatest asset

All the residents of Shirdi wept on the day he merged in SAI BABA. After the 12the day formalities his beautiful photograph was placed at Samadhi Mandir in Shirdi

Even today also many devotees of SAI BABA keep their new born babies at his Samadhi and used to feed the sand of his Samadhi mixed with Castor Oil to their babies.

They believe that by this act some of the good and kind qualities of Maharaj Kumbhar would be acquired by their babies.

Today is April 20th. From this day at least let us remove the immoral thoughts that would create anxiety to our mind.

That was the only tribute that we could give to that Great Person.
