SAI BABA has narrated a tale on February 27th, 1912. ‘When He went to the fields, some parrots were there.

When SAI BABA was there the parrots were sporadically scattered’ – thus said SAI BABA.

Why did the parrots scattered?

One could find similar instance in the life history of Tukaram.

Tukaram went to Alandi some time. Sant Jnaneswar’s Samadhi was there in Alandi. It was such a pious place.

On reaching Alandi Tukaram paid obeisance’s to the Lord who was a creator.

Then some birds were eating fruits with their noses on the tree of Aajaan.

On seeing Tukaram they all got scattered. Tukaram felt sad and dejected. He said to himself that ‘I have conquered all the six tastes. My mind is in the state that could not know the difference. 

I have been living like a dead body leaving the likes & dislikes of a body. Are All these waste? I burnt my body with Knowledge of Brahma (Brahma Jnanam). I gave this body to the owner of it.(almighty lord)

A light was ignited with the grace of Lord Panduranga within me. Even then the birds were scattered. Was all that I achieved meaningless? – Tukaram felt very restless.

‘Oh! Lord! Panduranga! You have to protect me’ – Thus meditated Tukaram on Lord Panduranga.

He was standing like a figure scarecrow displayed to avert the evil eye from the fields etc (Dishti Bomma) without any action, thinking that only ‘When the birds come back to him he would accept the atonement’.

He had forgotten even the air. He remained in that state not for a minute or two – he stood for around one & half hours

Did Shysamasundara (Lord) not know this? Crowding birds arrived & stood on Tukaram without any fear. Tukaram felt happy.

He moved his body several times, but the birds did not scatter nor did they move.

Birds won’t move from the tree that sheltered them even though there was a cyclone. Similarly those birds attached to Tukaram.

What for a man should be afraid? When he is the entire universe himself & who will be afraid of him!

Only one thing was clear here – let us keep our mind without impurity. That was enough.

Let us change our mind like that of Tukaram & SAI BABA.

The birds who could not understand the oneness may scatter, but those with oneness, everything remains the same.
