SAI BABA Himself asked to build Sathe Wada.

A Bombay resident Kaka Saheb Dixit had seen the accommodation difficulties of the devotees who used to come to  Shirdi.

He himself wanted to build a Wada, and through Shyama got the permission from SAI BABA.So it was decided to build a unique Wada. That’s called Dixit Wada.Kaka Saheb Dixit told this to his elder brother Bhaiji. Bhaiji was a big contractor. He started the work immediately.

After completion of construction, on Shree Rama Navami Day in 1911, the house warming ceremony was held. That means on 7th April 1911, the Dixit Wada was inaugurated.

Upper part of the Wada was allotted to Kaka Saheb Dixit and other fellow Sai Devotees. It was decided to restrict the entry of women to the upper part of the Wada.

Many miracles were experienced in this Wada.

Kaka Dixit asked Upasani Maharaj to stay in the Wada as his guest. Recognising the goodness of Kaka Dixit, Upasani did remain as a guest to Kaka Dixit for some time in the Wada.SAI BABA said to Hemad Pant that ‘Dixit was a good mannered man. Stay with him’. Accordingly Hemad Pant stayed with Dixit in the Wada.

Kaka Saheb Dixit was taking care of the requirements of everyone who was staying in the Wada. He was behaving equally with everyone and was soft.

Later this Wada had become Meals Place (Bhojanalayamu).

This would give Kaka Dixit happiness as his guests were remained with him either at Bombay or at Shirdi. He never ate his food alone.After some time the Dixit Wada has become Tea Canteen.

At present Dixit Wada is utilised as Museum..

This building is really a Divine one as the dust of the feet of hundreds of devotees pass by it.

That building got appreciation as the sweet memory of Dixit and Sai Baba
