Loka Maanya roared that ‘Independence is my birth right’. Not only roaring, he met many Saints in that matter.

While sitting in Dwaraka Mayee SAI BABA said, ‘Tilak is coming’. Those present there thought that Saint named Vaman Maharaj Tilak might be coming.

That day was May 19th, 1917. On arrival of Bala Gangadhar Tilak every one present there was dumbfounded. This incident was not recorded by Hemad Pant in Shri Sai Satcharita.

Shri Khaparde was one amongst many who recorded it in his book. The details were as follows:

‘We reached Shirdi at 10 AM after starting from the house of Pant a big lawyer at Sangamaneru and stayed at Dixitwada.

There were Bapu Saheb Booti, Narayana Rao Pandit present at that time.  My old friends Madhav Rao Deshpande, Jog and others also met us.

On reaching the Masjid, we had paid obeisance to SAI BABA. We never saw Him with so much happiness earlier. As usual SAI BABA asked us Dakshina and we all gave accordingly’ said Khaparde.

‘People were bad. Keep your thoughts in yourself’ SAI BABA advised Tilak on seeing him. I offered him namaskaram.He has taken some rupees from me. Kelkar and those present there also presented Dakshina.

Madhav Rao asked SAI BABA permission for all of us to go to Yeola. ‘Why go to Yeola in this scorching heat? For dying? After the climate becomes cold in the evening, you can go to Yeola’ Shyama! Serve them food’ thus said SAI BABA.

After taking meals at Madhav Rao’s house and taking rest again we went to Masjid.

SAI BABA lied down like sleeping. Devotees have given Tamboolam to Tilak at Chavadi.

Again we went to Masjid. SAI BABA has woke up and gave the Prasad of Udi to all of us and permitted all of us to leave.

All of us returned to our own places by a Motor Vehicle.

Not only on Ordinary people and families, SAI BABA’s blessings would be there on leaders of the country also.
