The forefathers of Peeroji Maharshi came from Maharastra and settled in Sattenapalli.
Peeroji Maharshi was contemporary of Manikya Prabhu. LalSaheb once prayed Manikya Prabhu to show the way for salvation.
Manikya Prabhu initiated him Taraka Mantram and advised him to get Paripoornachala Brahmopadesh from Pulahori Peeroji at Sattenapalli.
Sometimes Maharshi asked to serve him another plate while taking meals.
When asked why then he replied that Kalesha Mastan from Guntur is coming. To everyone’s shock other served plate got empty.
Maharshi with his disciples going to Bhadrachalam pilgrimage. They stopped the carts somewhere to start cooking meals.
The rice bag which they bought has fallen somewhere. Everybody felt hungry.
Maharshi stood under a tree and prayed Lord Rama that “You are merciless Rama, even though I’m praying, asking you are not giving darshan”.
Meanwhile, one person came with Rice Bag and asked the cart fellow that whether this rice bag belongs to you? Does it fell on the way?
Thus, the person handed over the Rice Bag to a Cart Fellow. This was informed to Maharshi by a cart fellow.
Maharshi was happy, mesmerized with the Grace of Lord Rama.
All the devotees praised the devotion of Maharshi towards Lord Rama.
Then Maharshi told the cart fellow that ‘You were very lucky.
That rice Bag was handed over to you by none other than Lord Rama Himself’.
Once the Maharshi was at Chilakaloori Peta. He was called immediately to come and see his ill wife and son.
He was traveling through a forest way as it is shortcut way to his place. On the way four thieves obstructed him, he didn’t feared, nor tried to run away from them.
He sang a song ‘I’m in immense happiness, all my difficulties were removed’ (Ento Brahmanandamaayenu, Mana Chintallannee Vidi Poyenu’) thinking that the thieves were Rama, Lakshmana, Bharat and Shatrughna.
The thieves understood that this was Maharshi Peeroji and prostrated him and asked his excuse and became good people.
When Maharshi was coming into Sattenapalli, he came to know that there was Cholera outbreak in Sattenapalli.
Without going home, he took bath in a well and with his wet dress only he sat in the raised platform at Maha lakshmamma Mata’s Neem tree, he sang some songs extempore on Maha lakshmamma Mata.
After giving Mangala Harati to Mata he reached home in the evening.
The cholera left his wife, child and the villagers. Entire village praised him. He said “It is God’s grace”.
While saying Hara Hara Hara three times, he uttered Shri Ramarpanam and left his body through Brahma Randram on 9th July 1989.
Today is 9th July. Peeroji’s Death Anniversary. Let us pray him.
