Many devotees and Visitors used to present Naivedyam (Offering) to SAIBABA.

There were incidents which were contrary to this. One such incident was SAIBABA Himself went to house of Ramachandra Atmaram Tarkad at Bandra from Shirdi in search of  (Naivedyam). Wife of Ramachandra Atmaram was Seethadevi. She was the devotee of Lord Ganesha since her childhood.

There was one incident where her devotion towards Lord Ganesha was enhanced.

Her husband’s employer was one English Man and he wanted to buy the idol of Lord Ganesh for using as Paper Weight, her husband purchased it by paying 8 times more the amount and brought the Lord Ganesh idol to Home. The Trunk (Tondamu) of the Lord Ganesh idol was tilted towards right. This type of idols should not be used for/in Daily Worship was belief.

However the day before each Vinayaka Chavati, the idols which are to be used for worship needs to be re-painted removing the old colour as preached by scholars, and the family did the same.

The previous day of Ganesh Chaturdi was called Haritaalika Day. This was very important day. On that day Tarkhad’s family used to give New Colours to the idol of Lord Ganesha.

One day the hand of that Lord Ganesh Idol was broken. Many people told that As per Hindu Tradition that idol was not fit for worship. Similar incident happened in Dakhineswar.

Govinda’s Leg was broken to the Idol at Dakshineswar. That idol was not fit for worship said the Poojaris. Rani Rasmani asked the advice of Ramakrishna Paramahansa.

‘If the leg was broken for any of the Rani’s son-in-laws, would you fill the place with another person? Or else provide proper treatment to the leg’, asking this Ramakrishana Paramahamsa advised that ‘Leg of the Idol should be carefully pasted and continue the worship’.

Rani Rasmani has happily followed the advice of Ramakrishana Paramahansa.

Here Seethadevi asked SAIBABA what should be done to the Lord Ganesh’s Idol.

‘If your child has broken a hand, would you abandon that boy in the water? Worship that idol of Lord Ganesh every day’ thus said SAIBABA. Seethadevi’s happiness had no bounds.

Lord Ganesh is compassionate. One Haritalika Holy Day Seethadevi was merged with Lord Ganesh.
