SAIBABA has said that ‘This is the Dwaraka Nagar of Lord Krishna’. SAIBABA appeared as Lord Krishna, shown Miracles, and slept after tiring Himself.

We have to wake Him up. Kakad Arati was ready for it. But we would wake up in the Kakad Arati, Lord Panduranga, not Lord Krishna. How to wake up SAIBABA, as Lord Krishna? Problem might be ours, but the response to it was from SAIBABA.

Before Kakad Arati, there was a song Ghana Shyama Sundara! Sridhara arunoday jhaalaa… solved the problem.

That wake up song was written by Shri Honaji Bala (1754-1844). He was of eighteenth century.

That song was sung by famous singers Pandit Rao Nagarkar and Lata Mangeshkar in the music set by Vasant Desai in 20th Century.

It was said that there was no Maharashtrian who did not know this song.

Honajee was just like Lord Krishna, a jewel born in Yadava caste.Unless Vasant Desai has not tried for Honajee Bala, this wake up song to SAIBABA would not have been there. So much name and fame could not have come.

After Travelling various places Vasant Desai found the whereabouts of Honajee Bala in a place where it would be felt better than a slum called Chavan Khaanee.

Honajee Bala’s ancestors recognised the efforts of Vasant Desai, presented him the Tampura used by Honajee Bala. Vasant Desai had the darshan of Honajee Bala’s Samadhi and prayed Honajee Bala and Meditated on him. He has reached the Samadhi state. Then he got the tune for ‘Ghana Shyama Sundaraa! Sreedhara!’. We should not say that he got the tune, this tune was bestowed on him.

Vasant Desai has then recorded the song with Panditrao Nagarkar and Lata Mangeshkar and Sri Shantaram jee has pictured it in a film Amar Boopali. This song was from the film Amar Boopali.

Sri Shantaram was born on 18th November 1901. Today is his birth anniversary. Let us sing the two stanzas from the song of Honajee Bala that was given to SAIBABA.
