Gopal Bhaskar Datar was a Lawyer staying in Thane. He was of the opinion that it is a stupid belief to perform funeral ceremonies for anyone. He stopped doing them.

He has become the devotee of SAIBABA. His friend was Nachne. Nachne’s wife  pass away. To perform Funeral Ceremonies Nachne went to Nashik.

There he met a man who has done ritual and everything nicely for Nachne with the little money that Nachne had.

That person has given his address to Nachne. Nachne wanted to meet him and he went in search of him. He came to know that there were none with that name there.

Then he felt that SAIBABA Himself has helped him in performing funeral ceremonies of his wife.

Datar came to know of the incident and felt that while SAIBABA Himself did the Funeral Ceremonies of Nachne’s wife, Datar felt that he should also perform the Funeral Ceremonies.

If SAIBABA has a feeling that Performance of Funeral Ceremonies was a stupid belief, He would not have performed for Nachne’s wife.

SAIBABA has performed Funeral Ceremonies for Dhumal, and Bapu Saheb Jog in the literature of SAIBABA.

Datar started to perform the Funeral Ceremonies since then. Performance of Funeral Ceremonies was not at all a stupid belief for SAIBABA.

Bala Saheb Bate has performed rites of SAIBABA.

That day was November 13, 1918. SAIBABA has given darshan to Kaka Mahajani in his dream and said, ‘Do you still sleep? Wake up. Today was the 30th day of My passing away. Perform the rites’.

Kaka Mahajani woke up and calculated. That day was 30th day, 30th day Funeral Ceremony to SAIBABA was to be performed. That means 1st Month’s ceremony.

Immediately Kaka Mahajani has done it in his house only. He has done Abhishekam to SAIBABA’s footwear.

He called Kaka Saheb Dixit, Moreswar Vaman Pradhan, and Hemad Panth for meals for the ceremony. All attended the ceremony.

After a week they performed SAIBABA’s bhajan. From then onwards Kaka Mahajani used to perform the monthly ceremonies without anyone reminding him.

That means we should know that Performance of Funeral Ceremonies were not additional or unnecessary ritual to SAIBABA
