Many  approached SAI BABA for fulfilling their worldly or spiritual desires.

But contrary to both of these there were few countable individuals in Shirdi who demanded only affection from Sai Baba. Example for this was Tatya Kote Patil, son of Ganapati Rao Kote Patil and Smt Bayaji Kote Patil.

Tatya Kote Patil had relationship with affection since his childhood with SAI BABA.

In the eyes of SAI BABA Bayaji was His Elder Sister (Akka), Tatya was son of His elder sister.

Residents in Shirdi never enjoyed such a liberty with SAI but Tatya had immence liberty with SAI BABA. Tatya’s desires were never expressed explicitly. He was sleeping with SAI BABA at Dwaraka Mayee since his childhood.

Both SAI BABA and Tatya Kote Patil behave like maternal uncle and nephew (Menamaama mariyoo Menalludu).

The devotees at Shirdi used to get many works through Tatya from SAI BABA. Chavadi Festival was done with Tatya as all in all.

He was covering the shoulder of SAI BABA with a Shawl of gold or silver lace woven as the border (Jalataaru) Tatya took SAI BABA to Chavadi. Tatya was holding left hand of SAI BABA and a lantern with his other hand. Only after Tatya inhaled the Chillum, SAI BABA inhaling it.

‘Just keep a watch on Me. You go anywhere you want, But come at once to this place and enquire about Me’ SAI BABA used to tell these words toTatya.

How much love they both enjoyed and shared! What was the necessity of coming to enquire about that LOKA NATHA?  Was it not that SAI BABA was acting like an ordinary person?

Tatya used to console SAI BABA not to leave Shirdi and asked Him to remain in Shirdi ever. He always used to put efforts to make Baba change old/worn out Kafni and make Sai wear new once. Tatya also used to control Sai’s immense anger

Tatya was the only person who used to do all these works. He loved SAI BABA as SAI BABA only.

Let us not see SAI BABA as a God for a moment, but as a person with Love and affection.

Such a person SAI BABA left His life for His nephew Tatya. SAI BABA has shown how a human love has to be…!

Even though SAI BABA is physically not there with us anymore, Tatya Kote Patil used to serve the Devotees of SAI BABA equally

He reached SAI BABA’s abode on 12th March 1945.
