That was July 4th, 1917. That is the day of Gurupurnima.

SAI BABA was worshipped as Sadguru on that special day. Hari Bhau Karnik of Dahanu Village worshipped SAI BABA.

After taking leave from SAI BABA, while Hari Bhau Karnik was about to step out of Dwaraka Mai, he felt of giving one more Rupee as Dakshina to SAI BABA.

Shyama then signalled Hari Bhau not to come back to SAI BABA, but go forward. It was the  tradition in Shirdi that one should not go back again to have the Darshan of SAI BABA, once SAI BABA permitted him to go. It was the tradition in Shirdi. So Hari Bhau Karnik went forward without coming back. While going back to his village, Hari Bhau Karnik went to Nashik and visited Kala Ram temple which was famous there which was in Panchavati area.

Shri Rangarao Odhekar was the founder of that temple. Lord Rama appeared to Shri Rangarao Odhekar in a dream and told him that he was in the form of black statue in River Godavari. Immediately that Sardar searched for Black Rama, they got the idols of Sita and Lakshman also with Lord Rama. The place where the idols were found was called Rama Kund (Rama Kundam).

In His 14 years of exile in forest, Lord Rama resided in this place for some time. Kala Ram mandir was built there where Lord Rama walked and lived.

Many legends of Great Persons were connected with this Mandir.

Not only Chakradhar Swamy, Eknath Maharaj, Samardha Ramadas, the cotemporaries of SAI BABA i.e Gajanan Maharaj and Narsingh Maharaj also visited the temple.

Narshing Maharaj was Avadhoota. His birth details were not known. He used to lit the Dhuni in the Kala Ram Temple.

He never expected anything from anybody. He never spoke with anyone.

Such an Avadhoota Narshing Maharaj caught hold of wrist of Hari Bhau Karnik and demanded him to “Give me my rupee”, when Hari Bhau Karnik visited the temple. (i.e. while returning from Shirdi enroute to his village of Dhanu)

Immediately, Hari Bhau Karnik recollected his resolve to give one more Rupee as Dakshina to Baba.

There was no need of informing SAI BABA of our resolution.

SAI BABA has taken the Daskhina from His other form and fulfilled the wish of Hari Bhau Karnik. What was there if the Dakshina offered to whom?
