Aji Bai, an orphan in the Great City of London, was saved by Sai Sachcharita Parayanam. She was again given an honourable shelter at London City itself. She was stabilised there. The Indian Guest House run by her has got a good name there. She never forgets Dr. Tukaram Kakade, who introduced her to SAI BABA.

As a mark of gratitude, she wanted to build SAI BABA’s Mandir at London City. She informed this to Dr. Kakade.Dr. Kakade met his friends. One of them was Abaphansikar. He was a devotee of SAI BABA. He used to manufacture silver Padukas of SAI BABA and take them to Shrdi to put them at SAI BABA’s Samadhi Mandir and used to do Pooja and Abhishekam there. Then he used to give that Padukas to one devotee of SAI BABA. That was his religious obligation.

When Dr Kakade told him about Ajibai, immediately he agreed. He wanted to take those silver padukas to London city by himself and wanted to consecrate in the temple which was proposed by Ajeebai. Would SAI BABA refuse it?

Shiri Megharaj Bhaigala wanted to give 3 feet marble idol of SAI BABA to the temple as his contribution. Arrangements were made in big style as it was the first ever SAI BABA’s mandir in foreign city.

Consecration was done on July 29th, 1965. That was in Hope Lane, Golden Green Area in London.

The inauguration of SAI BABA’s mandir was done like a festival. Many print media in England attracted this news and published this news that the inauguration was done successfully and with a grandeur. Around 500 to 700 people used to attend the Aratis on Every Thursday in those days. In those days, the Sai Temple was like a home for Indians in London.

That was not the first time SAI BABA showed His miracles,

But the beginning was pronounced, for the construction of Sai temples abroad

SAI BABA made this possible through woman called Ajee Bai.

It tells us that Sai is omnipresent!
