SAI BABA who encourages Devotional Path was also a Great yogi.

The greatest women poet of Telugu People was also a yogi. She is known  as a writer Tarigonda Vengamamba (Tarikonda Venkamaamba).

At the age of her eight years Lord Narasimha has appeared in her dream and initiated her. Since then she has taken Lord Narasimha as her husband….

As per another opinion, she told her husband on her first night that her body and mind were dedicated to Lord Venkatesa and so do not expect any bodily experiences from her.

Worried about this he has passed away at his house only.

Then this child widow took the permission from her father and learnt Yoga and Poetry from Roopavataram Subramanya Sastry at Madana Palle thinking his as her Guru.

She used to be in yoga Samadhi at Lord Anjaneya’s statue after the village calmed down without any sounds.

The poojari of the temple has beaten her thinking that she was a thief after throwing her out.

As she was a widow, as per prevailing tradition, she was insisted to shave her hair by some.

One barber has come to shave her head, she has bended her head before the barber after meditating Lord Narasimha. Tiger was visible to the barber and the barber ran away out of fear.

To test her Purshpagiri Peethadhipati has come and stayed in Lord Narasinha’s temple and asked her to come and see him. She has come.

There was a curtain between her and the Peethadhipati. Peethadhipati asked her why she has not offered him Nakaskaram.

If you get down from the throne, I would offer you Namaskaram said Vengamamba.

He did accordingly. She meditated on Lord Narasimha and offered him Namaskaram.

That throne was fired with a blaze. Peethadhipati praised her as the incarnation of Prahlada.

Venkateswara and Narasimha were not at all different to her.

She has taken eight writers with her and wrote ‘Dwipada Bhagavatam’. Similar incident can be seen in the life of Kavyakanta Ganapati Muni.

Venkamma used to give Karpoor Harati to Lord Venkateswara after completion of His day’s programmes while doing Lonely Seva.

Those who were traditional not liked her giving Karpoor Harati to Lord Venkateswara. She started giving the Karpoor Harati in her home itself from the next day and thus she satisfied.

Lord’s Chariot was not moved further once after coming in front of her home.

The matter was known to those who did not liked her giving Karpoor Harati, she has come there and gave Lord Venkateswara the Kharpoor Harati.

Then the Chariot moved. From then onwards during Loneliness Seva she used give Mutyala Harati daily to Lord Venkateswara. Now too the same tradition is going on. She attained Maha Samadhi.

Indian Postal Department has released a postal stamp memorising Tarikonda Venkamamba on April 26th, 2017.
