While going on official visit to a village, once Nana Sahab Chandorkar was to pass Harishchandra Gutta (Hillock named after Harischandra). Nana was climbing the hillock with his staff. On climbing half way it was a mid-day. It was scorching summer. (As such this incident might have happened in the month of May).

The Sun was on head. Nana felt thirsty, his tongue become parched. His staff searched for water in the surroundings, but in vain. Nana was suffering with severe thirst. They could not understand what to do? Nana then got the remembrance of his Adoring God, SAI BABA.

Immediately, he prayed SAI BABA whole heartedly. Nana knew that Gods would be helping their devotees.

God has respected Narsi Mehta Hundi. Ranganatha has guised like a cook for the sake of Ekanath.  Panduranga has appeared as Vithu Mehar to save Damaji.

‘It would be good if SAI BABA was here’ felt Nana. This was not liked by some of his staff.

SAI BABA was sitting with Shyama at Shirdi at that time. He told Shyama that ‘Nana was in trouble’. Exactly at the time, Nana found a Bhil person with teakwood on his head.

Nana asked that Bhil ‘where we will get water?’ ‘Water was available beneath the stone you were sitting’ replied the Bhil. On removing the stone, fresh cold drinking water had spurted from that place. Nana drank the water and then started his journey with his staff.

Nana went to Shirdi after sometime. Shyama asked Nana whether he was in trouble at a particular time on a particular place. Nana explained the details to Shyama.

The Bhil who gave the whereabouts of water, was none other than SAI BABA, felt Nana.

SAI BABA has fulfilled the physical thirst by showing Nana the water and also fulfilled his spiritual thirst by saying the inner meaning of Bhagavadgeeta.
