This incident happened on 2nd May 1986. It was informed by Shri Subramanyam through a Newspaper.

Human beings have many desires. It is but natural to ask for fulfilling a wish with Sai Baba who is himself a wish fulfilling tree and a mystical cow which makes all desires come true

SAI BABA has also never said not to ask Him for desires. However The desire of one person may seem insignificant to another desire. And at times comparison of these desires results in thinking whether these also are real desires

It is always felt that for maintaining one’s family a small job could be enough. The same thing happened in the life of Cholker. Cholker prayed to SAI BABA for getting a decent job which can allow him to take care of him and his growing family (SS Chapter 11)

Hari Vinayak Sathe was in the position of Deputy Collector. He asked SAI BABA about his job. Making a request of the desire completely depends upon an individual/persons circumstances

There will not be Big Desires, or Smallest Desires. They were as per the situation prevailing at that time.

While starting from Delhi on 29th April 1986, Shri Subramanyam asked his staff to do the reservation by Bangalore Nizamuddin Express on 2nd May 1986 from Manmad and reached Shirdi. When he reached Manmad, his office staff said that they could not find return reservation.

He enquired at the Reservation Office at Manmad, but in vain. After SAI BABA’s darshan at Shirdi, he reached Manmad on 2nd May.

There was heavy rush of passengers on that day at Manmad. Even to put his leg in general compartment was impossible for him.

Though having no reservation, he boarded the reserved coach courageously. He knew that it was a mistake. But he prayed SAI. Someone told him that a berth would be vacant within half an hour, that he would give it to Subramanyam.

Subramanyam was very happy at SAI BABA’s grace. Within few minutes five persons got down from that coach. One berth was allotted to Subramanyam. He expressed his gratitude to SAI BABA and travelled.

There are some who question if it ok to ask make these kind of requests to Sai in life?

It was not unreasonable to ask SAI BABA, but It is also unreasonable to call/force on Sai to fulfill his wish.
