His son should be more successful than him is the expectation from any father. Similarly, in Spiritual Path, his disciple should be equal to them, is what the Gurus feels/expects

SAI BABA wanted that his disciple Kashinath Govinda Upasani should be equal to Him.

SAI BABA asked Upasani with internal feeling to plant 14 Peepul Trees. Not only this, SAI BABA has given him Guru Ship on Guru Purnima day in July 1913.

Upasani was doing Spiritual Practices in Khandoba Mandir as per instructions from SAI BABA.

SAI BABA has called His Devotee Chandra Bai Borker and ordered her to do Guru Seva to Upasani who was then doing spiritual practices in Khandoba Mandir. Seva means to adore him as a Guru. Since she had the courage and was strong by nature, SAI BABA selected her for this task.

She went to Khandoba Mandir with all the material of worship and sat at the feet of Upasani. Upasani was surprised with her act and did not allow her to touch his feet and asked her to go.

She told him that she has come here to fulfill the orders of SAI BABA. What was his order asked Upasani. She explained to him in length. ‘I do not want all these, do not touch my feet and go away from here’ rebuking her, he took back his feet.  ‘Whether you rebuke me, or beat me I have to obey SAI BABA’s order’ saying this she turned Upasani’s Feet towards her.

Upasani got angry and tightened his fist. She raised her voice and said ‘Is these feet yours? Is this body yours? Your feet and body belongs to us. They belong to this world, I would not listen to what you say’ saying this she put flowers on his feet and offered milk as Nyvedyam.

Upasani was restless. She did not stop. ‘Don’t talk any more, allow me to do whatever I wanted to do. On this Guru Purnima Day SAI BABA wanted me to initiate Guru Pooja to you. I would not stop if you say no’ she added.

Upasani had got the fame of highest learning as SAI BABA made him. Not only this Upasani had got the name for leading the people at national and international level.

It was in Sakori, a very nearest place to Shirdi, Upasani has become the Guru as per SAI BABA’s instructions. His Ashram was in Sakori.
