Position should not be inheritance! …Maheneeyulu – 2020 – 16th September

In Sai Satcharitra “The Human Life is great one, at last death is inevitable should be known to one, always remain in state of awareness and thus Life’s Chief Goal to be achieved” said it.

Sikhs Tradition’s third Guru is Guru Amardas. He and some others were riding on the horses and going.

Guru Amardas has run his horse speedily, so that One Wall to be fallen on them was saved.

Those accompanied him asked him why so much happiness with life? Then Amardas replied that this body was given by God, this body can be sacrificed for higher values, for that there was no need to sacrifice the body Guru Amardas told.

Amardas was happy when the sister in law of his brother sings Guru Nanalk’s songs.

He was happy at the meaning of those verses.  When he was 61 years old he has become disciple of Guru Nanak’s next Guru Angan Dev.

He dedicated his entire body to the service of his Guru. He used to bring twelve long years water from River Biyan on his shoulders by carrying a pot and brass pot on his shoulders for his Guru.

The most astonishing thing was that he brought the water while seeing His Guru, not showing his back to him and with his looks towards the Guru only.

Once Amar Das hit a dead wood tree in front of someone’s house and fell down.

His landlord asked his wife that somebody has fallen go and see. She told that House was not there Amar might be there.

Not only that she could not stop there, but has scolded his Guru Angan Dev. He tolerated that she was scolded him, but could not tolerated his Guru Angan Dev to scold.

That lady has become mad. Dead wood tree have revived.

He used to bring stick pieces from forest for Langar. The seva was done not expecting any reward.

Amar’s service was recognised by Guru Andad Dev and made him 3rd Guru of Sikh tradition.

He developed langer. The langer where there was no discrimination to anybody and eat together.

 Akbar has also eaten food at Langar and enjoyed and gifted some villages. Amar Das did not agree.

Guru Amardas has not thought the position as hereditary, the Guru ship was not given to his son, but to Spiritualist and Courageous son-in-law.

He has taken the Guru ship at his age of 73years and merged in Sakala Bala at his 95th year.

Today is his death anniversary. 16th September 1574. Let us remember him and one word from Guru Granth Saheb.

Oh eyes! God has given you light in your eyes. Just see him only not others.
