SAIBABA’s actions and words were strange indeed. SAIBABA used to say that ‘Our System is different’. Many times it appears that this was nothing but true.

In Hindu temples installation of idol is followed by the golden pot or kalash installation. But it happened in a different way in case of SAIBABA’s mandir at Shirdi. Butiwada became Maha Samadhi’s Mandir of SAIBABA. The installation of pot/kalash on Butiwada was held for three days in Shirdi like festival celebration.

In those three days, important day was 29th September 1952, on this day golden pot Installation was done.

SAIBABA attained Maha Samadhi on the Ekadashi followed by Ashwaija Shukla Dashami. The same celestial constellation I.e. Stars planets Combination of that day repeated after 34 years in 1952. Many Scholars of various subjects arrived from holy places like Poona, Alandi, Nashik to Shirdi.

The Pooja started in the Morning at 6.30 hours. The kalash measuring three and half feet was placed on a beautifully decorated Chariot in Shirdi and took out for procession with band and troupe of dancers accompanied with the Holy Chant of ‘Sainatha Maharaj Ki Jai’ by all the devotees. The Golden kalash was installed on Samadhi Mandir at morning eleven hours amidst the recitation of mantras and Holy Chants.

The Great Person and Scholar Dr. Ramachandra Prahlada Parnekar has installed the Golden /kalash on the Samadhi Mandir.

While devotees were uttering victory to Sai slogans. On this occasion 25 Cannons shots were fired. Nagesh Atmaram Sawant by flying Saffron Flag on the top of kalash, showed to the world flickering of SAIBABA’s fame.

As per Hindu Tradition, the installation of kalash was an important event.

This kalash was made of Gold, Silver and Five Metals (Pancha Lohalu), filled with various grains, the Urn was installed at the Centre of Mandir. Then it will be consecrated. This also acts as, shield and protect Mandir against Thunderstorms and Lightening etc.
