SAI BABA used to say about Gulzar that ‘How detachment & salvation could be possible to a miser?’

Sreenivasa Nayak was doing the business of jewels & has got the praises as ‘Nine Crores Narayana’ (Nava Koti Narayana).

That wealth has made no humanity in him. Panduranga has made that type of person with much difficulty as Ascetic, Devotee, Musical Father, The Best Humanitarian & excellent Hari Das.

Nayak has become Purandara Das. He wanted to dedicate his entire life to God’s Service only.

‘One wife was equal to one thousand Gurus, she made me to catch Tumbura & Veena.

She felt that obtaining Bhiksha by his Husband  (He himself Purandara Das) he may feel bad she observed & gave her a Bag (Jole) to his armpit’ Purandara Das used to tell.

His entire life was with the Bhiksha only. After husband bringing the Bhiksha, his wife used to feed the guests, then only she used to eat.

The Bhisha of that day is only for that day only. There was no question of keeping the bhiksha for the next day.

Vysarayalu has given him the Deeksha, & made him to join in Madhva Religion.

Written songs in the name of Purandara Vithala. He has written songs very difficult philosophical matters in to Kannada in very easiest way.

His Guru told that those songs were equal to Vedas. It has become Purandara Dasopanishat.

Further, now the children were being taught the Musical Lessons, the first ever songs were of Purandara Das, indeed.

They were Janti Swaralu, Allankaaraalu, Geetalu, Lambodhara Lakumikara etc.

Panduranga used to serve in his devotees houses in other forms.

Panduranga has worked as Appanna in the House of Purandara Das & took beatings at the hands of Purandara Das.

When Purandara Das came to know that Appanna Himself was Lord Panduranga, He disappeared.

Purandara Das has observed how disastrous his angry & further observed that Lord Panduranga has given him such a great status.

‘Person like you was my Father; I do not have a father’

‘I have a God like you; for you there were none’.

‘I have Administrator like you; but for You there were none’.

‘You were Alas, orphan indeed; I was in my universe’’

‘Your wife Lakshmi Devi was my Mother’.

‘Oh Purandara Vithala! Do You have parents that I have’ asks Puradara Das.

Government of India has released a postal stamp on Purandara Das remembering him on January 14th, 1964. Let us all be happy on seeing our parents with devotion & love.
