‘This is Megha’s last Arati’ – said SAI BABA. Many could not understand this.

SAI BABA’s devotee Narke wrote to Kaka Dikshit about the Chavadi Festival of last evening and some more incidents happened on that day on March 2nd, 1918.

That day was Phalgun Shasti. SAI BABA calls Eknath Maharaj as Paithan Brahmin, His Punyathithi was on that day.

Ekanath Maharaj’s Mahasamadhi festival was celebrated with pomp and show for three days.

SAI BABA had sent Ajee Bai to deliver spiritual discourse (Puranam). She delivered the discourse with her sweet voice the life history of Eknath Maharaj.It was just evening. As SAI BABA used to sleep in Chavadi that night, time was ready for Palanquin Festival.

SAI BABA showed His Angry form on that evening. When Tatya wanted to intervene, He got annoyed on him too.Picked up two stones to beat him. Tatya also got angry and was upset. Chavadi Festival could not commence.After so much time, SAI BABA become calm. In the meantime, the entire area was echoing with Bhajan.

But SAI BABA stubbornly said that He would not come. After some time SAI BABA told Mhalsa Pati that ‘Let us to go Takia’.Tatya called all the devotees to come. Bell was ringing at Dwaraka Mayee inviting all.Then the time was night 12 O’ clock. Every one gathered. As usual Palanquin arrived at Chavadi during the Pallaki Festival.

On Eknath Maharaj’s Maha Samadhi, the palanquin started at Godavari at night 12 O’ clock.

The Palanquin of Eknath Maharaj moves around the village entire night and reaches early hours again to mandir of Eknath Maharaj.

Now too the Palanquin reached Chavadi after 12 O’ clock mid night.  It reached Dwaraka Mayee in the morning. Some recognized this similarity.

The next day when SAI BABA asked ‘why the festival was delayed yesterday’, then many people could understand the reality

People could know till that much only.

No one ever knew then that, that was the last Respect SAI BABA paid to Eknath Maharaj on the Phalguna Bahula Shasti.
