Tests! …Maheneeyulu – 2020 – 23rd April.

SAI BABA used to test everyone. Same was Guru Nanak Ji .

People  beyond imagination arrived once to Kartarpur to hear Guru Nanak’s speeches.

The food and accomodation for them were arranged by Guru Nanak. The food for them was going to be over.

There two or three people were there. Out of them Guru Nanak’s sons Shree Chand and Lakshmi Das were there and another disciple was also there. His name was Lehana.

He told the sons of Guru Nanak that ‘Children! The Food Items were going to be over.

You climb the Thorn filled Babul Tree and swing it, then food items would be fallen from there.

We would serve them all’ for which they both laughed and went away from there.

Lehena was there only and after offering Namaskaram to his Guru, he swung the Thorn Filled Babul Tree. Then the Food Items were fallen.
Nanak once ordered Lehana ‘You Go Home’. Lehana said ‘Except your Feet there was no home for me’.

Then Guru Nanak told him to ‘Come with me’ saying this he has taken Lehana with him.

They both reached a bank of a river. There was a corpse with a cloth covered over it and Guru Nanak has taken Lehana there to the Corpse.

After showing the Corpse, Nanak told Lehana  to eat it. Lehena was not astonished. He was readied and asked Guru Nanak that ‘From which side should I start to eat that corpse’.

‘From the side of Legs you start eating it’ ordered Guru Nanak. Lehana agreed for it and took the cover cloth on the corpse. He was astonished then.

Instead of corpse, there was a food available in a long plate. On seeing this miracle Lehana fallen at the feet of Guru Nanak.

What Guru said, it should be heeded whether it should be a corpse or Food and there should not be any dislike.

Everything should be treated as Form of Brahma, this was known to Lehana.

Guru Nanak made his two sons to wear good dress and Lehana too wear a good dress and started to somewhere.

In the farm, there was some grass was visible to them. ‘Go and bring that Grass after cutting it. should give the Grass to Animals as food’ Guru Nanak told them.

That Grass was in the Mud Water. Thinking that if that Grass was cut by going in to that mud water, there dresses would be stained, Guru Nanak’s sons could not touch the Grass.

Lehana got into the Mud Water and bundled that Grass and took that bundle to home.

‘Lehana dress has become mud-filled and why should he carry that heavy bundle ’ asked Gurunanak wife.

‘It was a symbol of pains experienced by devotees. They were not Marks of Mud, they were Spots of Vermillion from Heaven’ told Guru Nanak.

Such was the faith of Lehana and as such he was given Guru Hood by Guru Nanak.

Lehana has become Guru Angad. Angad means a part in the body. Lehana has become the part of the body of Guru Nanak.

April 23 1504 was Guru Angad’s Birth Anniversary.

Let us remember him and like him let us get the blessings of Guru and engage in Guru’s service.
