Vasudev was born on August 13th, 1854. Later he has become Shri Shri Shri Vasudevananda Saraswati Sadguru Maharaj. His mention was made in Hemad Pant’s Shri Sai Satcharitra. He was a great Internal Philosopher and Sage.

He observed the path of work (Karma) rigorously. He was praised by all that he was Lord Dattatreya Himself.

Such Vasudevananda had not followed the rules for sages in the matter of SAI BABA. This was a strange matter itself.

He never informed about his past, not asked anything from anyone. He would not indulge in any relation.

Vasudevananda arrived to Muktyala in Krishna District in Andhra Pradesh in 1908 for his 18th Chaturmasya Deeksha (Four Month’s vow by any sage). That was completed successfully.

Vasudevananda stayed at Rajahmundry for some time. Then Dasganu, devotee of SAI BABA had arrived Rajahmundry while performing Pilgrimage. Dasganu came to know that Vasudevananda was there in Rajahmundry, he has come to him to have his Darshan along with his friends.

While chitchatting with Vasudevananda ji the name of Shri SAI BABA and Shirdi has come. After hearing the name of SAI BABA, Vasudevananda folded his hands, gave a tender coconut to Dasganu and said ‘Give this to my brother SAI BABA with Prostrations. Ask Him not to forget me and show me his love’.

Dasganu was astonished after hearing the words of Vasudevananda Maharaj. Vasudevananda knows the reason for the astonishment of Dasganu. Sages did not offer prostration to others in general, but in the Matter of SAI BABA it was an exception – Said Vasudevananda

Then all understood the greatness of SAI BABA. Vasudevananada Swamyji felt the person who lived as beggars in a Dilapidated mosque like a mad fakir Vasudevanandula thought they were brothers.

In fact Vasudevananda ji himself was expert in everything. The sage Vasudevananda ji, who never prostrated to anyone, praised SAI BABA has opened the eyes of those scholars and ordinary folk alike.

Today August 13 is the birthday of Sri Sri Vasudevananda ji. Let us all pray to grant his grace on all of us.
